A former partner and counsel at some of New Jersey’s largest law firms, with more than 30 years of experience, Scott has been the Managing Member of Pyfer Law Group, LLC since 2016. Scott’s law practice focuses on the representation of buyers and sellers in investment, residential, and commercial real estate transactions, including short sales and transactions approved in bankruptcy courts. Scott assists clients in forming and managing organizations such as limited liability companies and real estate trusts, and Scott prepares and reviews agreements among participants in real estate investment transactions, such as contracts of sale and assignment, membership interest transfer agreements, joint venture agreements, and leases. Scott also represents lenders and borrowers in commercial lending and restructuring transactions, including, but not limited to, mortgage loans, commercial loans, and mortgage loan modifications. In addition, Scott represents applicants in land use matters, and Scott regularly represents plaintiffs and defendants in real estate and commercial litigation and arbitration cases, including foreclosure actions, and including litigation in bankruptcy courts. Scott maintains a bankruptcy law practice representing debtors and creditors in New Jersey bankruptcy courts. As former general counsel to a commercial lender, Scott coordinated commercial loan transactions and restructurings in many states, involving diverse industries. Scott has also represented title insurance companies and their insureds with respect to claims that relate to insured mortgages and other provisions of title insurance policies.
